Chromosome observations of Amorphophallus konjac cultivers


1. Seven cutlivers of Amorphophallus konjac ('Zairaisyu', 'Shinasyu', 'Bittyushu', 'Yamezairaisyu', 'Shimanezairaisyu', 'Harunakuro' and 'akagiodama') were karyotypically observed.
2. The karyotypes od seven cultivers of A. konjac (2n=26) and wild form of the species (2n=26) were the same to each other.
3. These karyotype data concludes that seven cultivaers of A. konjac have never been contaminated by interspecific hybridization with other species of the genus.
